Instructions on how to use the Guidebook:

  1. Before starting on your SL Project, briefly read through the guidebook to get a rough idea of the relevant procedures.

  2. During the execution phase, ensure that the RAMS are strictly adhered to. SL Groups who fail to comply will have their activities unendorsed.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is considered an SL?

An SL project is one with activities planned by the OT members, which meet the needs of the selected organisation as well as the team’s service objectives. On the other hand, if an event is planned by the organisation and the OT members chip in to volunteer, it can only be considered as an individual CIP instead of an SL project.

There should also be some form of interaction with the organisation as CIP hours will be endorsed by the organisation. Thus, simply raising awareness about a general subject or hosting activities for the students typically does not qualify as an SL.

Why am I not able to change the status of my project activity from 'rejected' to 'completed'?

Ensure that the following criteria are met:

  1. The end date must be earlier than the current date

  2. The team leader or a member has to complete the self-reflection survey

  3. A member has to upload a scanned PDF or document as a testimony

When will individual CIP hours be approved?

Two rounds of Endorsement Exercises will take place annually. All completed CIP activities and SL projects submitted in End Project Form between August and May will be endorsed in June, while those submitted between May and July will be endorsed in September. Specific deadlines for each round will be announced (keep a lookout on iEMB or mass announcement to submit all relevant documents) The VIA Unit will need time to look through your VIA activities. Just be sure to upload all required documents to the ISP.

If I conducted an activity before my proposal was approved on ISP, can the CIP hours be counted?

Any activities conducted prior to approval of the team's proposal will not be acknowledged and endorsed for CIP hours; the team will also face disciplinary actions and the proposal will be rejected. While planning for your project, do take into account overall time needed for the proposal to be approved.
