"From the perspective of an OT, we believe that we have learn the value of stepping out of my comfort zone, both as a Team Leader as well as a participant in this project. Due to the fact that our project works with people from NYJC ad HCI, we often find myself having to meet new people, which we had initially found intimidaing. Nevertheless, when we mustered up the courage to initiate coversations and work together with them, we realised how fun and valuable it is to meet and interact with them. These bonds, though temporary, further highlighted the enjoyment of service, as we get to meet people who are equallu passionate as I am about Project Lumina's cause. We truly treasure the new bonds and interactions I have made as a volunteer and as an OT, and what we really love most, is the smile on the children's face after we make them laugh and smile through our activities. To the junior OTs, our best advice is to really take the leap, and reach out to people so as to make your project as lively and meaningful as possible."
